Profile usage
My background is public because I chose to publish it. This page sets out how it may be used, and how to ask me when that isn’t enough.
The reference version
The profile published here (identity, background, skills, case studies, photograph) is mine, and it is the only version I keep current. I work independently under Owlistic Design, SComm, company and VAT number BE 1020.672.701.
A CV, a candidate sheet or a brochure written by someone else remains its author’s responsibility, even where it repeats these pages word for word. If a document is circulating in my name and you want to check what it says, compare it against this site or write to me.
Intermediaries and recruitment firms
Publishing my background is not an application, a mandate or an offer of availability. I’d ask you not to file this profile in a CV database or a sourcing tool, and not to pass it on to a third party before we have spoken.
Presenting me to a client requires my agreement in writing, for an identified assignment and a named client. This isn’t box-ticking, it is how I know where my name is committed, and how we avoid my being put forward twice to the same place, which helps nobody. An agreement given once does not carry over to the next assignment.
None of this is a closed door. A request that names the client and the scope gets an answer, including when the answer is no.
If a profile in my name has reached you
Check with me before going further. It takes a minute, and it saves you working from a file I have not read, or from an availability I never announced.
I work directly, or with a partner I have accepted for the assignment in question. Outside those two cases, what reached you is not necessarily current, and I am not bound by the terms you were quoted.
References and photograph
The organisations named in my case studies (Swift, Elia, Proximus, Smals) are personal references, cited with their agreement. They belong to my own record and not to any company’s, they have no place in a tender response or on someone else’s team page.
My photograph is covered by my image rights and is not reusable away from this site. The rest of the site’s content follows the terms set out in the legal notice.
Personal data
My name, my background and my contact details are personal data. Collecting them to build a talent pool or to run a prospecting campaign is processing under the GDPR, with the obligations that come with it, starting with a lawful basis and informing the person concerned.
I object to the use of this data for commercial solicitation. If you hold any on me, I may ask you for a copy of it or for its deletion.
Nor do I permit the automated collection of these pages to build a dataset or train a model.
The processing I carry out myself, on this site, is described in the privacy policy.
Getting in touch
If something falls outside these terms, write to me. A request to withdraw settles it almost every time, and that is the route I would rather take. Formal remedies exist, through the Belgian Data Protection Authority for the personal-data side.
